Kosudo used to be famous for its textile industry which was started in the Edo period. Especially some original weavings called “Kosudo stripes” were very sturdy and popular all over the country.
I created a large device by using shuttles and threads in various colors which were used on the loom to weave Kosudo stripes. It represents the movement of the loom and its sounds. By superimposing a number of images that are recorded while the device was moving, some painting works which does not depend on human hands are created.
